GenSan’s Tuna Products To Be Showcased In New Jersey

The best of General Santos City’s tuna products will make a splash in a festival in New Jersey, U.S., an official confirmed.

Dubbed “GenSan Tuna Festival,” GenSan Councilor Shandee Llido-Pestaño said the event will celebrate the city’s first year of sisterhood with New Jersey’s Jersey City.

To mark the occasion, freshly-shipped tuna from GenSan will be offered to festival-goers on Aug. 16 at Owen Gundy Pier Exchange in Jersey City.

The event, which was organized by SocSarGen USA in partnership with Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, will also feature local dances and other Filipino entertainment as activities.

The city government of GenSan signed a  sisterhood agreement with Jersey City on Aug. 14, 2018, as part of a trade and cultural mission.

“The historic signing is one of the highlights of the city’s achievements in international relations,” Pestaño said in a statement.
