This coming Sunday, the world is sure to gather around screens, to watch the much anticipated final season of Game of Thrones (GOT). The hype is very real, and companies are riding it with their own GOT–themed products. Of course, the food industry is no exception.
Here are some of the GOT food and beverage items available right now:
A Can Has No Name
Mountain Dew released a special limited edition can. The blank metal container is a manifestation of the creed “A man has no name ” by the Faceless Men of Braavos. When chilled, Arya Stark’s kill list appears.
If you’re itching to get your hands on one of the cans, you won’t be able to get it just anywhere. There are only two ways to go about getting one: first is through a scavenger hunt set to take place in both Los Angeles and New York, while those far from those locations could head over to either Mountain Dew’s Instagram or Twitter and let them know what you would sacrifice for one with the hashtags, #ACanHasNoName and #ForTheThrone. Winners will then be shipped a “A Can Has No Name” for their own.
Dracarys Burger and Dragonglass Shake
Shake Shack comes up with a secret menu that can only be ordered using Valyrian language. The Dracarys Burger is a spicy double cheeseburger topped with bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, and ShackSauce, priced at $11(P570). On the other hand, the Dragonglass Shake, available for $7(P360), is a cool custard blend of mint and white chocolate topped with shards of toffee.
Nabisco’s iconic biscuits are selling themed packages and cookies featuring the sigils of house Lanister, Stark, and Targaryians, as well as the image of a White Walker. It is available in your local Target and Walmart, or order them online in Amazon or eBay. Aside from the cookies, they’ve also recreated the title sequence of the series.
For the Throne Beer
Brewery Ommegang in New York has a tradition of releasing new booze for GOT every season. For the last one, a beer made with wine ingredients “For the Throne” was made. The wine juice beer packed with 9.5 percent ABV, is a golden ale co-fermented with pinot grigio and viognier grape juices. Its aroma hints at honeysuckle, toasted grain, pear, and apricot, while its tasting notes are sweet malt and honey dew. It is available in the US nationwide.
Award-winning winemaker Bob Cabral was commissioned by HBO to make the official wines of the series, which consists of a Red Blend, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and a Cabernet Sauvignon that immediately sold out.
