Stomach to Stomach: Vern and Verniece Encisco

Stylish sisters, Vern and Verniece Encisco, have everything going for them. Not only do they have an enviable online presence that capture the two living their best lives, they have co-written a best-selling book, and most recently, launched their career as entrepreneurs by establishing VV and Co., under which they have two perfumes for modern-day women.

Verniece Eau de Toilette is a tender-sweet scent that is both fruity and floral—perfect for the free spirits and teens. The fresh and very feminine scent comes from jasmine, roses, and violets. It brightens up the senses with zesty tones of melon and orange.

Meanwhile, Vern Perfume is a powerful and sophisticated fragrance that is at once, woody, citrusy, and ambery. There’s a hint of freesia petals, jasmine, and rose through doses of patchouli, musk, amber, and dry-down of moss. Peach, mirabelle, and lemon add freshness to the scent.

At this point, we’re all familiar with the achievements of the dynamic duo. MBites had the chance to sit down and have a stomach to stomach chat with the siblings. We also tested how well they know each other.

Who is the better cook?

Vern: Vern…iece. (laughs) She cooks one pasta.
Verniece: Grabe, mga three [dishes] na kaya! Alfredo, salad, hotdog, egg.

Who eats more?

Vern: Verniece.
Verniece: Vern.
(Looks at each other)
Vern: It’s me. (smiles)

What would your sister never eat?

Vern: Nothing! She’s not maarte with anything.
Verniece: Meat. Kasi she’s pescetarian now.

What is your sister’s favorite food?

Vern: Peanut butter and monay.
Verniece: Potato Corner fries.
Both: True! (laughs)
Vern: Can I just say a story about this? Kasi my lola lives in Cavite. My mom would never allow her [Verniece] to go to my lola’s house during the weekend, kasi she would finish one whole monay each day. Paguwi namin sa bahay, my mom was like “Ang taba taba mo na! Ang dami mo na namang kinain na monay.” The bakery beside my lola’s house makes the best bread ever.
