An Ice Cream Subscription Service in Manila? Sign Us Up!

Enjoying a cool treat on a hot day is a favorite summertime activity all over the world. While we have our halo-halo, the next best summer staple may just be ice cream.

We especially love homemade, all-natural ice cream, that uses ingredients locally produced. Papa Diddi’s Handcrafted Ice Cream is releasing new flavors for the sunny season, and we’re definitely stoked.

Summer Blooms are new flavors inspired by the colorful sights and sounds that greet any adventure-seeker of this season. A pint that brings us pieces of summer in the Philippines.

Papa Diddi’s founder, Paul Perez, explained the concept, “Summer is a big thing for our family. It is the time to visit new places, enjoy new experiences, and simply embrace the outdoors. And I use what surrounds me as inspiration in crafting new flavors.”

He adds, “Summer is when you get to enrich your life with new flavors. Thus we added seven more choices of ice cream flavors which we hope will enrich your summer as well.”

Here are the new flavors:

1. White Summer Lei

The flavor adds a tropical twist to rich ice cream by infusing the sweet-scented national flower, sampaguita with white chocolate.

2. Roselle’s Embrace

Popularly grown in Negros, the Hibiscus flower is known as an ingredient in tea. Incorporated in ice cream, it makes a surprisingly unique and pleasing flavor. Best paired with cheddar cheese.

3. Honey Sunflower Seeds

The quintessential summer flower is transformed into an interesting flavor by integrating toasted seeds covered in honey with the dessert. The fine combination of the Sunflower seeds’ nutty flavor and the sweetness of honey is certainly worth trying.

4. Manguavo

Two in demand summer fruits, Mango and Guava, are combined to make a refreshing ice cream.

5. Squash Blooms

Squash as an ice cream? Why not? The creamy yellow flesh of the squash is roasted and mixed with its flower and cinnamon. The flavor may even convert vegetable haters.

6. Blue Butterfly

The butterfly pea transforms the white carabao’s milk into blue. A yummy treat that is also a feast for the eyes.

7. Roasted Strawberry with Tarragon

Strawberries from the Northern highlands, matched with the perennial herb Tarragon.

Aside from the new flavors, Papa Diddi’s has a pint subscription service. Subscribers can get their ice cream fix in two handcrafted and hand-packed pints delivered fresh, straight to our doorstep every 20th of the month.

The packages are P650 per month for three months; P625 per month for six months; P600 per month for 9 months; and P550 per month for a year. A pretty sweet deal if you ask us.
