Quick and Easy Holiday Desserts

It’s Christmas time again, and we all know what that means… Cramming. Yes, filling your schedule to the brim with activities like Christmas shopping, the office/school potluck, and parties with your family/friends piling on to your usual schedule until your planner bursts from its binding (a perfect excuse to spend money on that holiday planner, eh?).

With that said, we’ve put together three easy no-bake and no-cook desserts you can make ahead of time to free up your schedule a bit.

Easy Tiramisu

Coffee lovers on a budget rejoice! This easy tiramisu recipe subs out expensive Mascarpone cheese in favor of cream cheese, without sacrificing the tasty goodness!

Yield: 4 bowls

Ingredients

1 block cream cheese, cubed
½ cup cold all purpose cream
1 ½ cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Lemon zest (optional)
3 tbsp black instant coffee
1 cup hot water
ladyfingers/ broas (as needed)

Procedure

  1. Whip together cream cheese, cream, vanilla extract, sugar, and lemon zest until smooth and creamy.
  2. Prepare your bowls.
  3. Dissolve instant coffee in hot water, then soak ladyfingers/broas in coffee until soft.
  4. Place soaked biscuits in bowls as the base, then top with cream cheese mixture.
  5. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
  6. Top or layer with whipped cream and cereal (optional).

No-Bake Oreo-Chocnut Cheesecake

Our Oreo-Chocnut Cheesecake recipe brings together two all-time baon favorites in one hasty and tasty dessert!

Yield: 4 bowls

Ingredients

1 block cream cheese
½ cup cold all purpose cream
1 ½ cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 envelope unflavored gelatine
½ cup hot water
Lemon zest (optional)
1 sleeve of regular Oreos, crushed (Double Stuff will make the crust too wet)
½ stick butter, melted
Chocnut (to taste)

Procedure

  1. Dissolve gelatine in hot water.
  2. Whip together cream cheese, cream, vanilla extract, sugar, and lemon zest until smooth and creamy.
  3. Whip gelatine mixture into cream cheese mixture.
  4. Mix melted butter and crushed Oreos in a bowl and mix until it feels like wet sand.
  5. Prepare your bowls.
  6. Spoon a layer of Oreo crust into the bowls and fill with cream cheese filling.
  7. Add layers of Chocnut to taste.
  8. Top or layer with whipped cream and cereal (optional).

Mango Graham

A contemporary Filipino party favorite, with our own unique twist, subbing out cream for cream cheese to add a bit of tanginess and to prevent leftovers from becoming watery…that is, if there are any left!

Yield: 4-6 bowls

Ingredients

Ripe mangos (to taste)
1 package of crushed graham crackers
1 block of cream cheese
½ cup condensed milk
½ cup cold all purpose cream (optional, as filler)
1 stick butter, melted

Procedure

  1. Slice mangoes, set aside.
  2. Mix melted butter and graham crackers together, set aside.
  3. Whip cream cheese, condensed milk, and cream (optional) until smooth and creamy.
  4. Prepare your bowls.
  5. Spoon a layer of graham cracker crust into each bowl, then layer with mangoes and cream cheese mixture.
  6. Top or layer with whipped cream and cereal (optional).
