Patrons of Donut City in Seal Beach have been buying out the store, purchasing a dozen doughnuts at a time, to help out owner John Chhan be with his sick wife.

John and Stella migrated to Orange County from Cambodia in 1979. For three decades, they’ve been working together at their Pacific Coast Highway store.
Customers became concerned after learning Stella suffered an aneurysm and is now in rehab. John has declined offers to create a GoFundMe account for them, sharing how he just wants more time with his wife. This is why patrons have been buying by the dozen, so supplies don’t last long.
John says with a smile, “We sell out fast, every day,” that’s why they’re able to close up shop as early as 10 A.M.
